Working and living legally in Austria requires following a formal process with clear rules. Taking the right steps at the right time is the key to a healthy process.
As Primo Personal, we plan all stages step by step for our candidates to complete this process with confidence and minimum stress, providing guidance at every point, from collecting the necessary documents to visa processing and initial registration in Austria.
Below, you can see step by step how this process works.
In order to start the application process, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
No legal impediments to obtaining a passport and leaving the European Union,
Clean criminal record,
Occupation listed in the labor shortage list,
Proof of professional competence with a certified document,
Minimum score of 55 points in the scoring,
A binding job offer from a company in Austria.
When all prerequisites are met;
The contract is prepared.
The prepayment is received.
The documents of the candidate and the employer are completed in full.
When these steps are completed, the official application process is started.
Applications are evaluated by the Austrian Employment Agency (AMS).
The average evaluation period is 8-10 weeks.
The Agency may request additional documents if deemed necessary.
After the application is approved, the Austrian authorities forward the residence permit letter to the Austrian Consulate in Turkey.
The D Visa application is submitted through VFS Global application centers.
The passport is usually delivered to the applicant's address within 1 to 1.5 weeks after application.
Upon receipt of the passport, the applicant clarifies the flight date and shares this information with Primo Personal.
Primo Personal organizes the necessary appointment for fingerprint registration based on the shared date.
Within the first 3 working days after arriving in Austria, the applicant has to register for residence (Meldezettel).
On the appointed appointment date, the applicant is fingerprinted at the Immigration and Residence Office.
After the fingerprinting, the date of the card delivery is notified by e-mail.
On the appointed date, the applicant receives the Rot-Weiss-Rot-Karte and can officially start working.
